J.J. Abrams offers popsicles and comic books
With just over a week to go until Super 8 hits theaters, promotion for the J.J. Abrams film is in full viral swing.
If you stopped by the comic shop today and picked up any of DC’s “Flashpoint” titles, you may have found a surprise waiting for you in the middle. Right at the center staple is a twelve-page “Super 8” comic (strangely titled “35mm Special Issue” in the Indica). You’ll have to buy a comic to read the full story, but check out a sampling below, including the painted cover by Alex Ross.
What’s more, the back of the comic features a viral ad for the film’s 7-11 tie-in, already appearing in convenience stores across the country. In conjunction with the film’s release, 7-11’s will be offering actual Rocket Poppeteers Pops, complete with retro signage in-store!
