Knicks player loves original, gets involved in sequel
New York Knicks basketball player Amar’e Stoudemire is talking with Relativity’s top dog Ryan Kavanaugh about executive producing The Strangers 2.
Stoudemire – who has his mitts in a number of things, like fashion and acting – is apparently a huge fan of the original film starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman. He told the New York Post at an event this week he’s looking to get involved in the sequel.
The Strangers 2 is written by Bryan Bertino and will serve as a directing vehicle for Laurent Briet. In February of this year, we confirmed that casting and location scouting was underway. Relativity appears to be dragging its feet with the film, I’m beginning to wonder if Stoudemire is injecting some funds to get this film rolling for real.
