Ridley Scott Calls on Old Friend to Be in Prometheus

Another “alien” rumored for prequel

The same site that said Ridley Scott’s Prometheus will be much closer to the Alien series than we were all led to believe (the plot might have something to do with Alien DNA), is now reporting the Space Jockey, seen in the first film, will be making an appearance.

Sky, who broke the news, has a source who claims the Space Jockey will be pulled off with animatronics. Awesome for those who still appreciate practical effects!

I might be reading into it, but I believe star Michael Fassbender also hinted at the presence of the Space Jockey when he said he needed to get in prime physical shape to “be as tall as I can standing next to those aliens!”

The Space Jockey is reportedly going to be eight feet tall.

Sky’s source goes on to say, “I’ve also had it confirmed that HR Giger is working on the project but only in an advisory capacity. By the way, people are going to be in for a shock when they sit down to watch Prometheus and there’s an enormous semi-human head piloting a spaceship.”

That’s a reference to an earlier news item which revealed that the ship was, yes, piloted by a giant head.

The Space Jockey may have been written off in the Alien film series after the first installment, but Dark Horse comics’ first Alien mini-series brought the weird race of creatures back.
