FearNET Gets a New President

Friendly, familiar face takes the reins

Since his departure from Lionsgate, Peter Block has been a busy guy.

The producer of such films as The Devil’s Rejects, the Saw franchise, Crank, The Burrowers and many more, established his company, A Bigger Boat, where he shepherded Frozen and John Carpenter’s The Ward.

Now he’s been named president and general manager of FearNET, a Sony and Lionsgate-owned channel which will be expanding its reach on October 1. He’ll be taking over for Diane Robina.

“With his varied experience, both as an executive and as a producer on some of the most successful films in the genre, Peter knows how to thrill an audience and is a perfect fit for FearNet,” said Andy Kaplan, president, networks for Sony Pictures Television. “Having been part of FearNet from the very beginning, he’s in a great position to take the channel to the next level.”
