The “evil Laurel and Hardy”
USA Today caught up to director John Landis while in post-production on Burke and Hare, starring Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis, and reported back with a few comments from the director and a new image.
“It has horror things within it â it’s about dissection and grave robbing, after all â but it’s a very black romantic comedy, hopefully in the tradition of the old Ealing Studios’ Kind Hearts and Coronets and The Ladykillers,” Landis says.
Serkis and Pegg play the eponymous 19th century grave robbers who find a lucrative business providing cadavers for an Edinburgh medical school. Landis describes them as an “evil Laurel and Hardy.” Shock was on set, so stay tuned for a full report!
