Full coverage roundup inside!
The time is upon us. Another Predator film is here, sans the Aliens or any other meddlesome outside influences.
Predators, opening today, is, to me, the ideal companion piece to both the 1987 film and the 1990 sequel (which I’m a fan of, I don’t understand all of the disdain). Antal and Rodriguez distill the formula and deliver. They’ve given us a decent ride with the Predators and an ensemble cast that surprisingly works. Each character is given their “moment.” And sure, it gets a bit talky, but it’s refreshing to see a film like this that completely dismisses our desire to empathize with our anti-heroes. The film isn’t about gimmicks. It’s about strategy, the hunt and, of course, cool Predator action.
Those are just my thoughts. Dish yours after you’ve seen the film in the comments section below! We went a bit nuts covering this one, I’m glad to see it was worth it and hope you enjoyed the read.
