EXCL: The Night Chronicles: Devil Coming out September 17?

So what happens to the other Rogue/Universal pics for that date?

ShockTillYouDrop’s non-horror site ComingSoon.net spoke with director M. Night Shyamalan earlier today about his planned series of horror-thrillers labelled “The Night Chronicles” and he told them/us that the first of those movies Devil, directed by John Erick and Drew Dowdle (Quarantine), will now be released earlier on September 17, rather than next year on February 11. That would put it up against the Emma Stone comedy Easy A from Screen Gems, Lionsgate’s animated Alpha and Omega and Ben Affleck’s movie The Town.

No word on what the studio Rogue Pictures’ distributor Universal will do with the Matt Damon sci-fi conspiracy thriller The Adjustment Bureau, which is currently slated for that date. Rogue Pictures had also planned on releasing the Sundance buzz documentary Catfish as a limited release on that date. We have calls into all the parties involved and if and when they get back to us, we’ll let you know.

Meanwhile, the full interview for Shyamalan’s new movie The Last Airbender (out July 1) will be up at ComingSoon.net sometime in the next 24 hours with him talking more about the mindset behind “The Night Chronicles” there.
