Shyamalan’s Night Chronicles Continue With Twelve Strangers

One jury and a case of the supernatural

It’s 12 Angry Men meets the supernatural?

Perhaps. Deadline is reporting writer Chris Sparking has been hired by M. Night Shyamalan for Twelve Strangers, a story that concerns a jury deliberating on a case that involves the supernatural.

Sparling also penned Buried, opening in limited release on September 24 with an October 8 wide release to follow. Ryan Reynolds stars in the film as a contractor in Iraq who is buried alive.

Twelve Strangers will fall under Shyamalan’s The Night Chronicles banner. The first film to float that moniker is Devil, Universal’s February 11, 2011 release from the Dowdle Bros.

Shyamalan is out on the town with his latest script, a thriller in the vein of Taken with supernatural overtones (we’ll see how Shock-worthy it is). Bradley Cooper, Bruce Willis and Gwyneth Paltrow are circling the lead roles.
