Chris Columbus moves on three new horror films
1492 Pictures, a production outfit run by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, Gremlins, The Goonies), and CJ Entertainment are at work on three new horror films.
Most notable is it appears Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen) has been accepted into the Columbus fold. Green will be directing Killer Pizza under the 1492 and CJ partnership. The film follows a teen who takes a gig at the eponymous pizza delivery joint which is really a cover for a monster hunting organization.
Neil Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book” is also part of the deal. The adaptation focuses on an orphan raised by ghosts. Neil Jordan was once attached to direct.
And, finally, Columbus will write Carpe Demon. This adaptation of “Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom,” by Julie Kenner, concerns a soccer mom turned demon hunter.
