Joel Silver Talks Unknown White Male, The Apparition

The next two thrillers from Dark Castle

Out to promote his acquisition of Splice, Dark Castle’s Joel Silver spoke about a pair of upcoming thrillers that have garnered headlines here at Shock.

“The next two [for us] is Unknown White Male, with Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger and January Jones, Aidan Quinn,” he said today. Neeson finds himself playing a man who awakens from a coma and discovers his identity has been stolen, and no one believes him. Silver re-teams with director Jaume Collet-Serra (House of Wax, Orphan) on this one. “It’s really an interesting thriller. Hitchcock-y. Jaume is a really interesting director who leads you along a path and takes you on a journey. Liam is sensational. It’s very effective. We just finished shooting.”

Silver is equally enthused about The Apparition from newcomer Todd Lincoln. Apparition is really scary. Ashley Greene and Sebastian Stan commit to the story, it’s a Poltergeist/Paranormal Activity vibe, but it’s really scary.”

The producer said he’s still vying to get remakes of Logan’s Run and Forbidden Planet off the ground.
