Indie Watch: Chupacabra Reborn in The Nest

Cinéma vérité take on legend

No relation to Terence Winkless’ 1988 film The Nest, Slide Entertainment is at work on their own film carrying that moniker.

The Nest is going into production this summer with Trey Howell directing and applying the same cinéma vérité approach – seen in The Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity – to the Chupacabra legend. FX artist Ben Hardie will create the beast.

The story follows several friends facing eviction who follow a lead to a nearby island where there is supposedly hidden treasure. Their task proves to be more difficult than they thought when a pack of Chupacabras attack.
