No strangers to creature features
With so much A Nightmare on Elm Street-related headlines filtering through our homepage this week, we nearly let a bit of news slip off of our radar.
Shock learned this week that Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff, Jr. of Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. are handling FX duties on The Thing for Universal. The company has had a long history in creature creation having worked on the Aliens vs. Predator series, Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection, Evolution, The X-Files: Fight the Future, Tremors and Starship Troopers.
Rob Bottin and his team created the many incarnations of The Thing for John Carpenter in ’82.
This new film is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton. Shooting begins soon in Toronto.
