Filmax locks down U.K., Australia and Italy release
Variety reports that Filmax had pre-sold distro rights for Manuel Carballo’s English-language possession pic Exorcismus, that include U.K. rights to E1 Entertainment U.K., Vendetta in Australia and an Italo licensing pact with Mediafilm.
Further deals include Gulf Film for the Middle East, Portugal’s Lusomundo and CDI for Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile. Many of these distributors handled the Filmax-produced and sold Rec 2.
Written by David Munoz (The Devil’s Backbone), Exorcismus concerns a possessed 15-year-old and the priest assigned to watch over her. The girl sets up a hidden camera in her bedroom to record his sessions with her. Doug Bradley, Sophie Vavasseur, Richard Felix and Stephen Billington star.
