As revealed in the Saw VI commentary…
In the commentary track for the recently release Saw VI DVD and Blu-Ray release, writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton confirmed that the character of Simone played by VH1’s Scream Queen winner Tanedra Howard would be back in the upcoming 3D seventh entry.
“(Tanedra) was so good, that she’s not only in this (opening) scene, and the anchor and victor of a very intense trap, but also has a nice emotional scene later, and has just been added into the mix for Saw VII,” says Dunstan on the commentary track for Saw VI.
Meanwhile, while not confirmed as of yet, it’s a pretty safe bet that we’ll be seeing Costas Mandylor, Tobin Bell and Betsy Russell return in Saw VII 3D.
Saw VI director Kevin Greutert returns to the helm for Saw VII 3D from a script by Dunstan and Melton, which is slated to open October 22nd. Greutert was set to direct Paranormal Activity 2 for Paramount, also locked in for an October 22nd release date, but with his abrupt exit, no word yet on the status of that sequel.
