Freaks of the Heartland in Holding Pattern

Overture offers status…

Overture Films, the production outfit releasing The Crazies next month, is undergoing some changes.

The company announced that it is putting a number of projects on hold until it sorts out some business assessment and restructuring (in the wake of a number of financial box office failures). One film shifting to the back burner is Freaks of the Heartland from director David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express). Peter Sattler and Geoff Davey adapted the Steve Niles graphic novel.

This may free up some time for Gordon who is also slated to direct a Suspiria remake.

Overture recently announced its remake, Let Me In, hits theaters on October 1. Coincidentally, the same day Green’s next comedy Your Highness hits theaters.
