Darren Aronofsky’s new thriller
Ms. Natalie Portman must have got wind that I left the East Coast and returned to Los Angeles, because she has safely set down in New York City and officially began work on Black Swan. Naturally, the paparazzi was out in full effect and snapshots of the actress, with director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler), have danced onto the web.
Portman plays a ballerina who finds herself locked in a competitive situation with a rival dancer (Mila Kunis), with the stakes and twists increasing as the dancers approach a big performance. But it’s unclear whether the rival is a supernatural apparition or if the protagonist is simply having delusions.
Hmm, what do you think? It’s an Aronofsky flick, so it’s bound to be unique. Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder and Barbara Hershey co-star.
