Think You’re Ready for Spanish Movie?

Spoof of Spanish horror and beyond…

While we’re always a bit skeptical about giving coverage to yet another in the seemingly never-ending barrage of spoof movies, this… this one was just too weird and too bizarre not to at least give a mention to.

Via Slash Film, below you’ll find the trailer to (brace yourself) Spanish Movie, directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera and produced by the same company that made a lot of the original films being lampooned here. We’re amazed (and slightly baffled) that a film exists which spoofs The Orphanage, [Rec], Pans Labyrinth, Open Your Eyes, as well as non genre features such as The Sea Inside and No Country For Old Men. (I kinda chuckled at the [Rec] gag, actually.)

Even more bizarre is that compared to the slew of American made spoof movies (and from my personal understanding of the Spanish language), this actually looks better made and is funnier then what we’d normally get from this sub-genre.

To top it all off? Leslie Nielsen makes a cameo. (Naturally)

Check out the trailer below, and a translation at the original post here.
