On modern horror and Hammer’s latest thriller
It’s nearly Halloween. And naturally, many of the big news outlets are turning to some of the genre’s biggest stars to reflect on horror, their careers, etc. CNN? They went to Christopher Lee. Classy.
In a recent feature article on the actor, they lead off with his take on the genre today. Speaking frankly, Lee doesn’t care for it. “I find it quite nauseating what they do,” Lee told CNN. “The blood is all over the screen like an avalanche – the mutilation – dreadful things, and I just don’t enjoy that.”
Lee next stars in Invasion of Privacy – formerly called The Resident (and still called that titled in CNN’s article) – which reunites him with Hammer Films. Director Antti J. Jokinen and co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) both comment on working with Lee in this article. Give it a read!
Lee also has a part in the upcoming The Wicker Tree, a companion piece to Robin Hardy’s original The Wicker Man. More in our exclusive set report here.
