Based on the supernatural comic book by Warren Ellis
Variety reports that Legendary Pictures has acquired the film rights to Gravel, based on the Warren Ellis penned comic book series published by Avatar Press about a soldier in the British S.A.S. who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for money.
Ellis first introduced the character in a 1999 limited series of graphic novels published under the title Strange Kiss and will be writing the first draft of the screenplay. Rick Alexander is producing with Legendary Pictures.
Legendary is also in post production on another comic book property Jonah Hex starring Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox which hits theaters on June 18th, 2010.
