Cast revealed, director speaks
Is it a remake or not? That seems to be the question surrounding Boggy Creek, a low budget creature feature by Brian T. Jaynes.
Principal photography has commenced on the film which stars Texas Battle (Wrong Turn 2), Melissa Carnell, Stephanie Honore, Damon Lipari and Shavon Kirksey. Early reports stated it was a redo of the ’72 The Legend of Boggy Creek by Charles B. Pierce.
But Jaynes says it’s only similar in themes.
“It’s a thriller that centers around a story of five young kids who get caught out in a swamp in Boggy Creek, Texas,” he tells the Marshall News Messenger from the set in Uncertain, Texas. “They end up crossing paths with an ancient evil creature that lives in the swamp.”
He adds that this is his own version of Sasquatch that’s culled from Caddo Indian mysticism. For more, read the MNM’s report here!
