In February, the fine fellows at Latino Review got the jump on everyone. They reported Watchmen‘s Jackie Earle Haley was in line to star as Freddy Krueger in Platinum Dunes’ A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Dunes’ Brad Fuller went on the record and told us something different. Today, however, Bloody-Disgusting says Haley is in final negotiations to play the role once embodied by Robert Englund and that an official announcement is due possibly next week.
Update: FEARnet got the jump on it, now Brad Fuller has confirmed for ShockTillYouDrop.com that The Haunting in Connecticut star Kyle Gallner is finalizing talks to star, too.
Samuel Bayer begins directing the reboot later this month in Chicago.
