Autopsy star finds terror in the skies
Today, Escape Factory and Foundation Features announced they are beginning production on Altitude. The picture generated some headlines here at Shock during the American Film Market last year. Kaare Andrews is making his directorial debut with a script by Paul Birkett. For more details, we turned to actress Jessica Lowndes (Autopsy) who is set to star in the film.
“I play a student on her way to getting her pilot’s license and I take my friends to a concert,” Lowndes, who just wrapped a season of 90210, exclusively explains to us. “As I’m taking off, there’s a technical malfunction and everything goes wrong. You don’t know if there’s something wrong with the plane, if there’s something out there. It’s pretty intense.” She’s hesitant to elaborate on that “something” she refers to, however, “it’s going to be crazy because it feels like a thriller, then it turns sci-fi, then horror. It’s a mix of everything.”
She departs for Vancouver this week to join the production and visit her family. In preparation for her part, she’s taking flying lessons and is getting heavily involved in the casting of the film. “When I first read the script, I was so passionate about it, I really wanted to be involved. The filmmakers have been so cool. The director, Kaare Andrews, is amazing. He’s this terrific comic book artist and writer. He’s worked for Marvel, so visually it’ll be incredible. I’ve seen some of his short films, so I believe in him.”
More with Lowndes is coming this week. Keep it here for a full interview.
