What’s on tap at Craven’s company?
Last night, Rogue and Universal were kind enough to hold a reception following a screening of The Last House on the Left during which the press got to mingle with the film’s cast and crew.
Wes Craven was there. As was the team at Midnight Entertainment, his production outfit. And as always the case when you smash press with producers, there was talk of upcoming projects.
There’s nothing solid but what you should probably know is that the remakes of The People Under the Stairs and Shocker are very much alive and well. Both are with Universal, but there’s no telling right which film will come first. It doesn’t sound like The Hills Have Eyes 3 is a priority right now, so that may be a long way off. The general consensus is there are a lot of unknowns right now as to what is next, however, the recent box office draw for Friday the 13th bodes well for the future.
Addressing rumors that Craven’s upcoming 25/8 might get a new title: Not true. Some additional shooting took place a few months back in Connecticut and the overall vibe I got from Craven on his latest directorial effort is that the project is turning out great. He’s definitely thrilled with his cast.
