Is Jena Malone in Cabin in the Woods?

Whedon spreading “misinformation”

B-D is reporting Jena Malone of The Ruins is in line to take a leading role in The Cabin in the Woods, Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard’s horror film which turns the genre upside down.

With a little digging, however, one will find that The New York Times has already reported this…and it’s been debunked by Whedon himself. Times‘s original piece paired the Malone casting with the addition of Bill Nighy.

“This is misinformation. While we are fans of both those actors, neither is attached to the movie. Just FYI,” said Whedon in response to the Times article. “In order to protect the story from spoilerization, we’ve been sending out our OWN misinformation, including fake sides for the actors, fake summeries, different names… So there’s gonna be a lot of information leaked that will lead to excited speculation about things you will not see. Sorry. But here’s some stuff you CAN look forward to, my word on it: 1) A person will have an emotion. 2) two people speaking, or “dialogue”, may occur. 3) A bunch of different people will play the part of Bob Dylan. Hope that clears everything up. More updates soon!”

The Cabin in the Woods rolls cameras soon and currently stars Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins.
