Sequels, remakes hold on strong
The 2008 Autopsy Report is a month-long look at the year in horror. An unflinching and frank examination of the genre’s accomplishments, lapses, trends and random (or, rampant) stupidity in the big screen, television and direct-to-DVD world. This weekly series will sift through the detritus of the last twelve months and see what worked and what didn’t, why and why not.
At the end of every week, the “Top Previews” list residing on the home page of ShockTillYouDrop.com is adjusted to reflect the most accessed horror movies in our database. Sometimes, titles reach the top because new photos surface and others linger because, well, you dear reader, keep the interest alive. Below I’ve compiled two lists to put a cap on our year-end coverage. The first reflects the ten most previewed films of the year based on the traffic you gave them – and as you’ll see sequels, remakes and, er, Twilight (?!) dominated 2008. After that, the top headlines of the year; stories that endured time and were much talked about in their respective comments section.
