Shock Video: A Tour of Drac Studios

Responsible for Dracula, Christ and Trailer Park of Terror

This week ShockTillYouDrop.com was invited to the San Fernando Valley-based Drac Studios, a workshop responsible for some of the FX you’ve seen in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Passion of the Christ (no shit, there’s a crucified Jesus propped up on the back wall), Van Helsing and most recently David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Watchmen and next month’s DVD release Trailer Park of Terror.

In anticipation of Trailer Park‘s release, Drac opened its doors to us for a tour of the shop and to see their work up close and “in the flesh,” so to speak. Trailer Park helmer Steven Goldmann showed off some of his ghouls and talked with us about his feature coming to DVD October 21st.

I also caught up with Todd Tucker – who shares Creative Director credit at Drac Studios with Greg Cannom. We discuss the shop, the original projects they have in the works and we get the lowdown on the upcoming Night of the Demons remake they’re working on with director Adam Gierasch. While we did see some mind-blowing designs from that film, we can’t say a thing about them.

ENJOY THE VIDEO TOUR!
