Van Den Houten confirmed to direct
Art Hindle (The Brood), Pollyanna McIntosh, Tommy Nelson and Spencer List (Malevolence: Bereavement) are set to star in Offspring, an adaptation of the Jack Ketchum novel first announced last month. Ketchum is penning the script himself for Andrew Van Den Houton to direct. Filming begins next week in Muskegon, Michigan – a state offering some terrific tax breaks for productions.
The story is set in Dead River, Maine, where an evil thought to have been exterminated has returned with their insatiable appetite for human flesh. David and Amy Halbard’s family and their house guests are about to come face to face with a blood-thirsty pack of wild children lead by a woman, the last survivor of a primitive, cave-dwelling tribe of predatory savages. The only one who can possibly save them and put an end to the reign of terror is retired sheriff George Peters.
Peters will be played by Hindle while McIntosh, Nelson and List are starring as Claire, Luke and Rabbit, respectively. Van Den Houton previously helmed Headspace and served as a producer on another Ketchum title The Girl Next Door.
