Burrowers Eats an “R”

And other ratings news

The MPAA saddled J.T. Petty’s western creature feature The Burrowers with an R-rating (for violence and gore). This begs the question: Where is it? Months ago, Lionsgate removed the title from it’s “coming soon” slate. All has been quiet on the western front since then. It’s finished, we’re surprised it hasn’t hit the festival circuit…

For more on the film, Petty talks with ShockTillYouDrop.com in-depth about Burrowers in this interview.

In other MPAA news, another Lionsgate title, Saw V is rated R (like, duh) for “sequences of grisly bloody violence and torture, language and brief nudity.” The anthology horror film Amusement (another one with a release date up in the air) is R for “R (horror violence, terror and disturbing images.” And, finally, Anchor Bay’s Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer is R “for horror violence and gore, and for language.”
