Down, Satan! Latest Barker Adaptation

Who’s scripting Books of Blood tale?

Clive Barker’s Books of Blood story, Down, Satan!, has been scripted by newcomer Chris Monfette for development at Barker’s Seraphim Films.

Monfette, a DVD columnist over at entertainment site IGN, was faced with the unenviable task of expanding the 4-page tale – about a man who attempts to recreate Hell on Earth – to feature length. “It’s not easy,” he says. “But we found a way into the narrative that expands upon the ideas without stretching or distorting them. There’s drama and horror and suspense and scale and if we’ve done our jobs, we should have something intensely original.”

In August, Lionsgate releases Midnight Meat Train, John Harrison is in post-production on Book of Blood and Anthony DiBlasi is currently prepping the long-mooted screen adaptation of Dread.
