Breaking away from old school, vampire frights
The Hammer Films machine was only getting warmed up when it produced the online bloodsucker series Beyond the Rave. Next up is a remake of Let the Right One In – another slice of vampire mayhem, yet a drastically different on in tone.
Variety reports three more projects are looming on the horizon: “Hammer is set to start production later this year on The Wake Wood, directed by David Keating, that is described as being in the tradition of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Resident, a chiller directed by Antti Jokinen and The Quiet Ones, based on the supposedly true story of a group of Canadian hippie scientists in the 1970s who attempt to create a ghost.”
Jokinen was once attached to helm Rogue’s Half to Death.
