The Southern gothic novel by William Gay
Producers Chad Feehan (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane) and Amanda Micallef have been called upon to shepherd a screen adaptation of William Gay’s 2006 novel Twilight. Fort, a new indie production company, recently acquired the rights to the property.
Garnering kudos from Stephen King, the story follows two teens, living in a small Southern town, who discover the local undertaker, Fenton Breece, has been defiling the dead (necrophilia anyone?). They obtain incriminating photos of Breece’s wrongdoings, but the fiend sets loose a convicted murder and local strongman to destroy the evidence.
Fort has not named a writer or director to tackle the material.
