Adaptation of Susan Gran’s possession novel
Currently editing his feature directorial debut, The Ruins, director Carter Smith already has a new project on tap: Come Closer. But, he tells us, “It’s in a holding pattern because of the strike.”
Based on a novel by Sara Gran, “it’s about a woman who suspects she’s been possessed by a demon,” Smith elaborates. When and if the WGA strike clears up, he says he’ll continue work on the script with Tristine Skyler who is adapting. For now, it’s all about “Ruins,” however, he adds there are a bunch of potential projects swirling around in his future at the moment.
Miramax will distribute the film when it is completed.
