Darkness Falls on Lionsgate

House of Saw picks up new indie horror

Some acquisition news out of Los Angeles’ Screamfest

Jake Kennedy’s splat-tastic zombie feature Days of Darkness is calling Lionsgate its home. The UK-born writer-director tells us the studio behind the “Saw” and “Hostel” films (among tons of other contributions to the horror genre) picked up “Darkness” following its Sunday screening.

Kennedy also directed the short film “We All Fall Down” which traveled the fest circuit before landing on the “Fangoria: Blood Drive II” DVD.

In Days of Darkness, a comet whizzing by the Earth leads to a rise in the planet’s undead population leaving a diverse band of survivors to save mankind. Click on the title for a cast list and an early trailer.
