Horror DVD News RoundUp

More pain for your empty pockets

The last few days have exploded with horror DVD news so let’s cut to the chase and get right down to it…

Alligator and Night of the Demons 2 will street on September 18th and 25th, respectively. Fangoria reports the former may carry over the Region 2 edition’s audio commentary with director Lewis Teague and actor Robert Forster, a new interview with writer John Sayles and a trailer.

The “Masters of Horror” crypt set we first introduced you to here is arriving on August 28th. It’ll set you back about 80 bones, but consider what you’re getting: All thirteen episodes of the first season (bonus material from the previously releases intact) and an extra disc containing a Masters of Horror Dinner at the Magic Castle featurette, the Masters of Horror DGA panel and two vintage Fantasy Film Festival interviews with Steven Spielberg and John Boorman conducted by series showrunner Mick Garris. Only 20,000 of these sets are going to press.

In anticipation of Resident Evil: Extinction, Sony is prepping a double-feature set which will contain Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the following bonus features: A “bridge” sequence narrated by Milla Jovovich’s Alice that ties the first two films into the third, a Diary of an Apocalypse behind-the-scenes featurette, a Zombie Dog P.O.V Test, a stuntman set tour, an Undead Boot Camp feature, a Memory Retention Division feature, and an Evil Archives photo gallery. According to DVD Active, look for it on September 4th.
