Mother of Tears Revealed

First pic of Argento’s witch

That gal with the sloppy mascara in the pic below is your first look at the titular witch in Dario Argento’s La Terza Madre, a.k.a. The Mother of Tears, the final installment in the Italian director’s “mothers” trilogy. It began with Suspiria in 1977, continued in 1980 with Inferno and took over two decades before Argento felt the time was right to wrap it up. Granted the enviable task to assist in this anticipated event were Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson, two American screenwriters who also penned Tobe Hooper’s The Toolbox Murders. They whipped up a script for “Mother” after which Argento put his finishing touches on it with a rewrite. Asia Argento (xXx) – who has appeared in many of her father’s films – stars in “Mother” as a student who unsuspectingly releases a powerful witch. No release date has been set.
