Below Deck Season 12 just had its first firing, and now the series will have to focus on finding a replacement for bosun Caio Poltronieri, who was released from his duties as St. David’s bosun. Caio had made some bad calls and showed a definitive lack of leadership skills. This led to his eventual firing.
There is, however, someone great who could replace Caio Poltronieri: Jess Theron. She could make for the perfect replacement.
Will Jess Theron replace Caio Poltronieri as St. David’s bosun in Below Deck Season 12?
While there is no official confirmation about Caio’s replacement in Below Deck Season 12, Jess Theron does seem like the most logical choice. Caio’s inability to communicate effectively with Captain Kerry was one of the key issues that led to his downfall.
This is a problem Jess will likely not face. Previous episodes have already shown that Jess is quite good at communication. When Captain Kerry learned of Caio’s mismanagement, Jess bluntly told him that he didn’t give her enough breaks. She also made her feelings clear about Caio’s management skills. This ensured that Jess caught the Captain’s eye.
The Captain also seemed to trust Jess. This trust could play a pivotal role in ensuring that Jess is given the job eventually. Jess’s responses and overall demeanor have been quite fitting. She has proven herself to be a level-headed individual who can handle pressure well.
Below Deck Season 12 has yet to announce the replacement, but logically, Jess Theron should be the one taking over. If she does, she will join the list of exterior crew changes that have happened during a charter season on Below Deck. The official announcement should come soon.
