Whoopi Goldberg is not on the show this week because she is in Italy accepting an award for her book, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me. Addressing Whoopi Goldberg’s absence, Joy Behar said on Monday’s The View, “We are all jealous of Whoopi today because she’s in Italy — I hope it’s 100 degrees.” She added, “She’s in Italy accepting an award for her book Bits and Pieces, so she will be out this week.”
Whoopi Goldberg also posted about her trip to Italy on Instagram, where she is accepting the honor on stage at the Taobuk-Taormina International Book Festival. She wrote, “Thank you (Grazie!) @taobukfestival for giving me a beautiful experience in an extraordinary environment, an honorable award and your kindness,…Books are so important to all the world.”
When will Whoopi Goldberg return to The View?
In Goldberg’s absence, Joy Behar will continue acting as the moderator for The View. Following this week, the show will go on its annual hiatus. This means that Whoopi Goldberg will next appear on The View on July 7, 2025, after the show returns from its week-long break.
