Days of Our Lives: Why Are Bo & Hope Leaving?

Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) are leaving Days of Our Lives, sparking speculation about the reason behind their departure. In the latest preview, the couple appears to be receiving an emotional farewell as they leave Salem to begin a new chapter in their lives. Although the storyline has teased their exit, Reckell previously left some hope for their return.

Below are the details on why the couple is leaving and whether the audience can expect them back in the future.

Why are Peter Reckell’s Bo and Kristian Alfonso’s Hope leaving Days of Our Lives?

Bo and Hope have decided to leave Salem to begin a new life together in Days of Our Lives.

Days of Our Lives recently released a short trailer teasing Bo and Hope’s emotional departure. In the preview, their sweet moments appear in the Horton House. Bo addresses their exit by saying, “To our new beginnings. So long, Salem.” Hope responds, “Until next time,” as the two walk away together.

Last month, Reckell responded to fans asking if he might return. He reposted a message on X (formerly Twitter) originally shared in 2018 to mark his debut anniversary and added a new comment. Referring to a possible comeback, he wrote, “Several of you responded by asking me to come back to DOOL. I would love to go back; the show just has to find room for me. Thanks so much for your continued support, it means a lot after all these years!!” This suggests there is still a possibility for their return.

While Bo and Hope depart, the show introduces a few new developments. Graduation day arrives in Salem, and Aaron Greene surprises his sister Kat by returning. He says, “Tomorrow’s graduation.” Additionally, Sophie says she is in labor.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock.
