Vedaa Age Rating: Is John Abraham’s Movie Safe for Kids?

John Abraham’s highly anticipated action drama, Vedaa, is slated for a grand release on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. The recently released trailer has already generated significant buzz, with fans eagerly awaiting its theatrical debut. The film’s trailer teases intense violence and action sequences, leading viewers to wonder whether the thriller is family-friendly. However, recent reports confirmed that the movie has completed its censor board review and received a certification, clearing it for release.

Helmed by Nikkhil Advani, the film stars John Abraham alongside Sharvari, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Abhishek Banerjee. Vedaa marks another collaboration between the director and the lead actor following the success of Batla House.

The official synopsis of Vedaa reads: “Vedaa is a story of bravery, of the power of one. It is the story of an uprising, of challenging a draconian system in which a young woman fought back, steered, and championed by the one man she believed was her savior, who became her weapon. It is the story of a man who found himself in helping Vedaa find justice.”

What is Vedaa movie age rating?

Recent reports confirm that CBFC has granted a U/A certificate to Vedaa, albeit with significant modifications. Notably, CBFC has trimmed more than nine minutes of footage from the movie. Furthermore, the CBFC also advised filmmakers to modify a one-minute and sixteen-second disclaimer, including adding a voiceover. Additionally, certain offensive words directed toward women and social identity have been substituted with less controversial terms.

Among the more notable changes, CBFC has completely removed a two-minute and sixteen-second hanging scene from the film. Moreover, the word “Jodhpur,” which was connected to the Jodhpur High Court in the film, has also been muted. To preserve the dignity of the court, 30% of the violent visuals in the court premises have been reduced. Additionally, scenes involving the tearing of currency notes have been blurred.

The certification indicates that Vedaa only requires parental guidance for viewers under 12. With the film now cleared for release, it will be interesting to see its performance at the box office on its opening day. Stay tuned for more updates.
