Tite Kubo’s Bleach has demonstrated that women in the series are powerful and formidable warriors. The Thousand Year Blood War arc, in particular, showcased some of the series’ strongest female characters, many of whom could rival the male characters in terms of power and combat skills.
Some of these characters hold game-changing power and can exploit any battle. With that said, here are the strongest female characters in Bleach:
Senjumaru Shutaru
Despite her calm and playful demeanor, Senjumaru is one of the strongest characters in Bleach. She is a royal guard member with the title “Great Weave Guard.” As a member of the royal guard, her spiritual power far surpasses the might of the Gotei 13. She is also responsible for sewing the Shihakusho worn by the soul reapers, infused with the royal guards’ bones.
Her Bankai, Shatatsu Karagara Shigarami no Tsuji, is so strong that when released, it shakes the soul society and the human realm. Her bankai can trap people in an enclosed space and attack them from the inside. It is strong enough to seal all of Yhwach’s Schutzstaffel. Due to her Zanpaktus terrifying power, her power is sealed, or all three worlds could be in trouble. She is by far the strongest female character in the series.
Retsu Unohana
The perfect words to describe Retsu Unohana would be calm but deadly. Her primary responsibility in the soul society is to heal her fellow shinigami. However, Unohana is more than just a master healer. She was previously regarded as the worst criminal in the Soul Society and the first Kenpachi.
As the first Kenpachi, her physical capabilities are almost the strongest in the entire soul society. Her healing abilities made her even more of a threat as her powers were so strong she could revive a dead person. However, all that pales in comparison to her bloodlust, which shows how vicious the captain can be.
Kuchiki Rukia
Rukia is arguably one of the strongest female characters in the series, thanks to her Bankai and Shikai. However, it is her mastery over Kido that makes her one of the strongest fighters in Bleach. Despite sitting on the sidelines for most of the series, she was still able to help her friends when they needed her. Her Shikai, Sode no Shirayuki, lets her lower her body temperature astronomically, allowing her to freeze anything she touches.
Meanwhile, her Bankai lowers her body to absolute zero, allowing her to freeze everything in her path. She showed this in her battle with Äs Nödt as she killed the Quincy in a single hit. Her rise and journey throughout the series are rewarded as she becomes the captain of the 13th division.
Kirio Hikifune
Hikifune is the former captain of the 12th division and a royal guard member. Her position as a royal guard already places her miles above the members of the Gotei 13. Like the other royal guards here, spiritual power is immense and has to be sealed so as not to offset the balance of the world.
Hikifune also boasts amazing supportive abilities as she creates food to recover stamina and power. She is able to summon the Tree of Life and is capable of dealing with most Reiatsu-based attacks. Her vast spirit and power and Bankai make her one of the series’ strongest female characters.
Orihime
While Orihime is mainly known for her happy-go-lucky attitude, she possesses one of the most overpowered abilities in the series. Orihime is a fullbringer, and her fullbring, Shun Shun Rikka allows her to reject reality. This is one of the reasons she is regarded as the best supporter in the series, especially for her heals and shields.
Her shields are strong enough to withstand Yhwach’s attack in his final form. Despite being mostly a support-type fighter, she is one of the strongest female characters in the series.
