Wild Wild Punjab ending spoilers
Wild Wild Punjab received mixed reviews from audiences after its release. Many enjoyed the light-hearted comedy, but some criticized the plot and dialogue. However, despite that, the film is currently trending on Netflix. For those curious about how the movie ends, here is everything you need to know.
Why do Khanne and his friends decide to go to Pathankot?
The film begins with introduction of Maan Arora (played by Sunny Singh), a womanizer and a college student from the ‘sports quota.’ He is friends with Gaurav Jain (played by Jassie Gill), aka Jainu, a naïve man who is extremely afraid of his father. The two meet their friend Rajesh Kanna (played by Varun Sharma), aka Khanne. He was recently cheated on by his girlfriend, Vaishali.
Khanne is sitting on the edge of the wall, with intentions of taking his life. However, his friends convince him to instead call his ex and tell her that he is over her. The trio are then joined by their fourth friend, Honey Singh (played by Manjot Singh). His two weaknesses are his late father and his car, Parro. When Honey hears about Khanne’s plan, he advises him to go to Pathankot and face his ex at her wedding. Thus, the group embarks on an impromptu road trip.
Jainu is against the idea because he is afraid what his father might do if he finds out. He also tells Maan that he can’t go with them because his wedding is scheduled for next week. However, he convinces him that the trip will take 6 hours and they will be back before his father is awake in the morning. The four then jet set in Honey’s car and encounter their first hurdle at a toll booth.
After escaping the goons and lighting the booth on fire, they crash a wedding in search of alcohol. When Jainu expresses concerns, the trio tell him off. To prove his fearlessness, he starts drinking. The group then wakes up next morning with no memory of what happened the previous night. They then learn that Jainu tied the knot with the bride, Radha (played by Patralekhaa). She joins the four on their trip to help Khanne.
What happens next with Khanne and his friends?
Radha shares a new twist in the group’s plan and suggests that Khanne take a girl with him to Vaishali’s wedding. She tells them about her friend in the Punjab University. While trying to look for her, Maan crosses paths with Meera (played by Ishita Raj Sharma). They convince her to go with them and pretend to be Khanne’s girlfriend. She agrees with the condition to make a pit stop in Gurdaspur.
On their way, Honey brawls with the police and the six of them are arrested by SHO Avtar Singh (played by Rajesh Sharma). However, they somehow manage to escape prison but end up facing double trouble because of Meer. They learn that she is a drug dealer who stole from her supplier and they are after her tail, consequently, them as well. The drug lords chase them and a gun fight ensues.
Does Khanne say ‘I am over you’ to his ex-girlfriend?
While trying to escape the drug barons, the six of them accidentally end up at Vaishali’s wedding. In the meantime, SHO Avtar Singh arrives at the location and arrests the criminals. He lets go of Khanne and his group. The focus then shifts to the main reason behind the chaos.
Vaishali is furious to learn that Khanne is at her wedding. However, the tables turn and she finds out that her fiancé, Naveen, is cheating on her. She tells her mother that she made the wrong decision and drags Khanne to the mandap. She asks him to marry her. With tears in his eyes, he hugs her and asks her if he can sing her the song he had written for their wedding.
Khanne’s song leads Vaishali to realize her mistake. With the final push from his friends, he successfully tells her, “I am over you,” leaving her in shock. Honey, Jainu, Radha, Maan and Meera cheer for him and Khanne joins them in celebrating his moment.
Maan’s dream also comes true briefly when Meera kisses him. But she soon disappears. The rest of the crew then jet-sets back for their homes. By the end, Jainu and Radha walk hand in hand, confirming their love for each other.
