The Boys S04E07: Is Black Noir Narcoleptic? New Powers & Weaknesses Explained

The Boys Season 4 introduced a new Black Noir to replace the original Noir from the show’s first three seasons as Homelander killed him at the end of Season 3. This new Black Noir, who often speaks his mind, doesn’t follow the marketing image and persona of the original one who is never supposed to say a word. Thus, fans have now become curious about this new Noir and are wondering whether he is narcoleptic. They are also asking if the new version of the character can fly and has any powers or weaknesses.

So what is the new Black Noir’s narcolepsy in The Boys? What powers and weaknesses does the replacement Noir have?

What is Black Noir’s narcolepsy in The Boys Season 4 Episode 7?

Black Noir’s narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder that causes him to get drowsy and fall asleep at any point of time during the day. Due to his narcolepsy, Noir cannot regulate his sleep-wake cycle.

This was evident in the earlier episodes when he suddenly fell asleep and started snoring during a meeting between the Seven. His narcolepsy was also shown again in Season 4 Episode 7 when he fell asleep during a fight with Butcher.

This new Black Noir’s narcolepsy, clearly makes him distinct from the original Noir, who also had a peanut allergy. Moreover, the new Noir can easily render himself inept via his narcolepsy at inopportune moments unlike the original, who required an external force to incapacitate him with his nut allergy, like when Queen Maeve shoved an Almond Joy in his mouth during one of their confrontations.

What are the replacement Black Noir’s powers and weaknesses?

The replacement Black Noir possesses mostly the same powers as the original one. These powers include superhuman strength, durability, and hearing. However, he can also fly but is not allowed to do so as he has to act like the original Black Noir for Vought’s PR purposes.

The new Noir’s primary weakness is his narcolepsy. This narcolepsy is unpredictable and can kick in at any time. Thus, if he gets narcoleptic during battle, he inadvertently provides an opening to attack him and deal some damage. The opponent could also use the time window allowed by the narcolepsy to run away, considering Noir’s immense strength and propensity for violence.
