K-pop Group Ladies’ Code Members: Where Are They Now in 2024?

The third-generation group Ladies’ Code debuted in 2013 with five members. Since then, their unique vocal presentations and mature concepts have made them a fan favorite. Here, we look at where the Ladies’ Code members are in 2024.

Third-generation K-pop idols are often called the pioneers of the modern K-pop era. Most successful Korean pop acts have come from this generation, including EXO, BTS, Red Velvet, and more. Even lesser-known K-pop acts who debuted showed immense promise during this period, including GFriend, Ladies’ Code, and NU’EST.

Where are Ladies’ Code Members now in 2024?

Since Ladies’ Code debuted (2013), the group has released two extended plays before a tragic accident in 2014 claimed the lives of two members, Eunb and RiSe. Since then, the remaining trio—Ashley, Sojung, and Zuny—has released a few more singles and held a concert to remember the two late members. Among the members, Ashley is most active on Instagram and updates fans on various things through her social media channels.

Ashley

Korean artist Ashley Choi trained with Cube Entertainment before debuting with Ladies’ Code. She became the leader and main dancer of the group and impressed fans with her on-stage charisma. The 33-year-old artist made her solo debut on July 17, 2018, with the single “Here We Are.”

As a part of third-generation K-pop idols, Ashley has made close friendships with many famous stars, including K.A.R.D’s BM, ex-Blady member Tina, Blackpink’s Rosé, GOT7 Jackson, Gugudan’s Soyee, The Rose’s Woosung, and Kim Chungha.

The leader of Ladies’ Code left the group’s founding agency, Polaris Entertainment, on February 17, 2020, after her original contract with the label ended. Since then, Ashley has opened her YouTube channel and shared tidbits from her daily life. Her YouTube series Adulting and Adulting 2.0 have struck a chord with viewers, as she talks about relatable life struggles that many in their adulthood face.

Sojung

Lee Sojung debuted as the main vocalist of Ladies’ Code in 2013. She took time off from her K-pop career in 2014 due to her injuries and appeared in various shows in 2016. Sojung appeared in both JTBC shows Girl’s Spirit and King Of Masked Singer to show her vocal prowess.

After three years with Ladies’ Code, she made her solo debut on May 4, 2017, with the track “Better Than Me.” Like Ashley, she left Polarois Entertainment in 2020 and started a new chapter of her career as a solo artist. Since then, the singer has shared new tracks and more about her life through her YouTube channel. Recently, Sojung released her new ballad, “Barely Had a Drink.”

Zuny

Kim Joomi, aka Zuny, debuted in Ladies’ Code as the main rapper and vocalist of the group. She is also the youngest member. Before debuting, Zuny attended the same dance academy as BTS J-hope.

Along with her music career, she debuted her acting career in 2018. She was cast as the protagonist in the web drama 4 Kinds of House. The 30-year-old K-pop star left Polarois Entertainment in 2020 to focus more on her solo endeavors.

Like the other members, fans could see more of Zuny’s life through her YouTube and Instagram pages. Zuny makes more lifestyle and food videos. However, the artist has taken a hiatus from sharing new videos for almost a year.

Meanwhile, since the group exited from Polaris Entertainment, the members have taken a hiatus from any group activities. The trio released “Set Me Free” as their last track, which garnered over 415k views. Almost half a decade after their previous release, fans of the group expect a mini-comeback to celebrate the act’s decade of debuting.
