Jonathan Morrison has become well-known for his YouTube content. He has amassed over 2.5 million subscribers on his self-titled YouTube channel because of his well-made videos on technology and gadgets. However, when he did not post a new video in several months, it didn’t go unnoticed by the fans. Eventually, he shared a video titled Health Update – I Lost Everything… on June 17, 2024, explaining what happened and why he had suddenly vanished from YouTube.
Here is everything we have learned about what happened to Jonathan Morrison.
What is Jonathan Morrison suffering from?
Morrison is suffering from a severe case of shingles in his right eye. In the video mentioned above, Morrison offers details about his condition and treatment process. He states that he “had been on a multi-year roller coaster with shingles” that affected his right eye and caused scarring. It later returned and was more intense, causing even more scarring. According to Morrison, as the scarring was more centralized this time around, it affected the pupil, resulting in drastic vision loss.
Further, the shingles reached several of his cranial nerves, which resulted in him either having a mini-stroke or brain trauma due to neuroinflammation. He suffered, among other things, from memory loss, spatial awareness problems, hearing loss, and sometimes even had trouble speaking. The struggle with memory loss was so dire that he couldn’t recognize his mother. On top of that, he discovered that he had a couple of bulge disks and a pinched nerve in his neck. Morrison added, “So, yeah, I lost every part of me: video, music, guitar, my team, career, my office… but the worst of all, my mind.”
On the suggestion of a spine surgeon, Morrison sought out the help of an upper cervical neck chiropractor. While his initial experience with the treatment didn’t produce the desired result, he eventually met Dr. Liz Hoefer, whose chiropractic treatment played a critical role in his recovery. Additionally, Morrison mentioned cold laser therapy, trigger point therapy, and lymphatic drainage were some of the other treatments that helped his recovery process. In the video, a hopeful Morrison states that he feels 60% better.
