American author Colleen Hoover has become a household name following the release of It Ends with Us (2016), which topped the New York Times best-seller list. The book’s success led to the development of a film adaptation, which will come out in August 2024. Now, a second cinematic project based on one of Hoover’s novels is in the works. Verity was published in 2018 and tells the story of Lowen Ashleigh, an aspiring writer hired to finish the works of an accomplished but ailing author. Lowen soon discovers not everything is what it seems with the eponymous Verity. If you want to know when Verity will premiere, this is what we have discovered.
Here’s all the Verity release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a Verity release date?
Verity does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.
In May 2024, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Amazon MGM Studios would be developing a movie adaptation of Verity. Hillary Seitz will write the screenplay, and Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund of the Eat the Cat banner will serve as producers. If the project does go forward and production begins by the end of this year, Verity can come out in 2026 at the earliest.
No information is yet available on the cast and director of Verity.
Where is Verity coming out?
Verity could come out in theaters or Amazon Prime Video.
This is because, as mentioned above, Amazon MGM Studios is developing the film.
ComingSoon will provide an update when there is more news on Verity.
The official synopsis for Verity reads:
“Follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of best-selling thriller author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series that his wife is unable to finish after a mysterious accident. Upon arrival at the lavish Crawford estate, Lowen slowly learns that things are not exactly as they seem with the discovery of a secret, unfinished manuscript that may divulge chilling admissions about the family’s past. As Lowen ingratiates herself with Jeremy and his young son Crew, she must discern if Verity’s writings are merely lurid works of fiction or an ominous warning by a deranged psychopath.”
