American Idol viewers wondering who was voted off last night, April 29, will get the full spoilers here. This is who went home in the latest episode, as well as the lowdown on who is still in the competition.
Who went home and was voted off on American Idol last night?
Last night, the remaining contestants showcased melodious performances, and constructive feedback was also given by the judges. However, there was a twist in the competition. The three judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, decided what song each contestant would sing. Right after the performances, the voting decided who would walk out of the show. This time it was sadly Kaibrienne “KB” Richins.
Kaibrienne “KB” Richins, from Summit County, was the one to get voted off of the renowned show. She performed Traitor by Olivia Rodrigo last night. It was loved by Katy Perry, who in fact called her a “superstar.” The “Last Friday Night” singer said to her, “It was amazing. It was heartfelt. You’re such a superstar and I’m going to wear that hair next week.” However, the performance wasn’t good enough to keep her in the competition.
The contestants who made it to the Top 7 are as follows: Abi Carter, Emmy Russell, Jack Blocker, Julia Gagnon, Mckenna Faith Brienholt, Will Moseley, and Tristan Harper.
Richins’ backstory of getting into American Idol is quite interesting. During one of her door-to-door sales pitches, she met a stranger, who interestingly denied her pitch but gave her words of encouragement. When she revealed to him that she wanted to be a singer, he said, “God wouldn’t have given you that gift if there weren’t ways to work through it.” From that point onwards, Richins started chasing her singing pursuits by making songs and uploading them on social media (via Deseret News).
Soon, her talent got recognized by a casting producer of the American idol, which paved her way to the reality show. Throughout the season, she received immense love from the audience, but now she has been voted out.
