Plot – what’s the story about?
The movie explores the covert and borderline unethical tactics used by Winston Churchill and Ian Flemming during World War II when they deployed a black ops unit to counter the Nazis.
Directed and co-written by Guy Ritchie, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare draws inspiration from actual historical events that took place during World War II. The film conveys the story of the covert British organization, Special Operations Executive, which was formed on the behest of then-Prime Minister, Winston Churchill.
The sole purpose of establishing the clandestine group was to conduct espionage in Nazi-occupied Europe and thwart German plans before they could be executed. The SOE inadvertently paved the way to the modern-day black operations, as well as other illicit warfare techniques.
