Gojo explains how Black Flash works
In a flashback, there was a question about why Gojo couldn’t use Black Flash intentionally. Gojo asks why someone thinks he can do that, but realizes that people think he can use Black Flash intentionally because of his Six Eyes. He says it’s not that simple.
There is no definite answer to activating Black Flash. When Gojo fights all out, he imbues his punches with his cursed technique. However, a Black Flash apparently depends on luck, even for someone like Gojo.
Gojo talks about Nanami, saying Nanami has a bigger record than him for consecutive Black Flashes. But if it’s the total number of times Black Flash was used, Gojo wins. His fights don’t last long, so he has few opportunities to hit Black Flash. The author’s note says Yuji will eventually surpass Gojo in the overall number of Black Flashes.
Miguel thinks the situation’s bad because Sukuna could possibly gain momentum. Yuji wonders if Sukuna’s getting his Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT) output back, similar to what happened with Gojo. Choso realizes Miguel and Larue have come to help, so they should join forces to kill Sukuna before his RCT output becomes normal again.
Yuji, Choso, and Maki attack Sukuna, who fights back with Black Flashes
Yuji uses a railing to trap Sukuna, while Choso uses Supernova. Sukuna avoids Supernova and escapes. Maki chases after and tries to stab him, but Sukuna grabs her sword. Choso realizes Maki’s using the air as support while fighting. Sukuna uses a Black Flash on Maki.
Maki notices Sukuna’s attack output for the slashes has increased. Sukuna sends another wave of slashes but Choso blocks it. Another wave approaches Choso but Sukuna suddenly appears behind him before the slashes even hit, in order to catch Choso off-guard.
As Choso attempts to block, Sukuna goes behind him, throwing him against a wall and landing a Black Flash. Choso lowers the damage through an armor made of blood and grabbed Sukuna’s arm. Yuji then punches Sukuna in the face, sending him back.
Choso says it doesn’t matter how many Black Flashes Sukuna does to get his momentum back. If Yuji hits him, Sukuna’s cursed energy output and his control of Megumi’s body decrease. Miguel tells Larue they’ve helped enough and should retreat, but Larue refuses, saying he still has something to do.
Yuji awakens, hits Sukuna with a giant Black Flash
Sukuna tries slamming Yuji to the ground, but Yuji uses Piercing Blood. Sukuna pushes him away but Yuji gets into the zone. The narration says Mahito noticed the Black Flash from Yuji, and Sukuna noticed it too now. However, his mind was brought somewhere else.
Larue’s cursed technique also allows him to grab the heart/consciousness of someone he has grabbed before. He grabs Sukuna’s consciousness, while Yuji hits Sukuna with an incredibly large Black Flash. The narration mentions Yuji has awakened after unlocking his potential via Black Flash.
