The Imaginary (2024) streaming release date is highly anticipated, and viewers are wondering when they can start streaming the film. Imaginary is a supernatural horror movie directed by Jeff Wadlow, who co-wrote the movie with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. The film was also co-produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner and Tower of Babble.
Viewers are keen on seeing Imaginary (2024) because it was co-produced by Blumhouse. Here’s when the movie could be coming out on streaming.
When is the predicted Imaginary (2024) and streaming release date?
The Imaginary (2024) streaming release date could be August 30, 2024. However, the movie’s streaming release is currently unconfirmed.
Since 2023, Lionsgate films have hit streaming approximately 175 days after their theatrical debuts. For example, John Wick: Chapter 4, a Lionsgate-distributed film hit the Starz platform on September 15, 2023, roughly 175 days after its theatrical debut on March 24, 2023.
Thus, keeping the John Wick timeline in mind, Imaginary’s speculated August 30, 2024 release would make sense.
Imaginary revolves around a young woman who returns to her childhood home to discover that her stepdaughter’s imaginary friend, Chauncey, is real and is upset with her.
The cast of Imaginary includes DeWanda Wise, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Betty Buckley, Tom Payne, Veronica Falcon, Sam Salary, Matthew Sato, and Alix Angelis.
Is Imaginary (2024) coming out on Starz?
Imaginary could be available to watch via streaming on Starz. It could also come out on Peacock.
The reason Imaginary will very likely stream on Starz is because it is owned by Lionsgate, who distributed the film in theaters.
As for why Imaginary will likely also stream on Peacock, it is because the streamer reportedly recently inked a deal with Lionsgate that would allow the former to stream the latter’s theatrically distributed films from 2024 onwards.
Current Starz or Peacock subscribers should be able to watch the movie when it airs. A Starz subscription for six months costs $46 and a monthly subscription costs $9.99. Both plans exclude special offers. Meanwhile, a Peacock premium subscription costs $5.99/month or $59.99/year and a premium plus subscription costs $11.99/month or $119.99/year.
Imaginary’s (2024) official synopsis reads:
“When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister.”
The synopsis continues:
“As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.”
