Marvel fans are wondering if Brie Larson‘s Captain Marvel will return to the MCU at any point in the future after she was last seen in 2023’s The Marvels. Here is all you need to know.
Is Brie Larson returning as Captain Marvel in the MCU?
Brie Larson gave a cryptic response when asked about her return as Captain Marvel in the MCU in the future. Thus, making her return uncertain as of this writing.
Recently, while attending the 2024 SAG Awards, Extra asked Brie Larson about her potential return to the MCU in future projects, but the Captain Marvel actress dodged the question and gave a very cryptic answer. She said:
“I don’t have anything to say about that.”
Brie Larson seemed indifferent when she gave the response. This is in contrast to her more optimistic response in 2023. In a previous Entertainment Tonight interview, she not only said that there was more to Captain Marvel’s story but also claimed there was something in the works involving the character that she could not talk about, citing Marvel’s strict code for sharing confidential information.
While Brie Larson’s future appearances as Captain Marvel currently remain unconfirmed, fans can still expect her to next show up in Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars, given that those films are expected to feature virtually every major MCU hero, both new and old.
There is also potential for Larson to return in Ms. Marvel’s second season if it gets made. This is because the end of The Marvels saw Carol Danvers settle down on Earth and strike up a friendship with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, after teaming up with her and Monica Rambeau to stop Dar-Benn. She could likely have a substantial role in a potential second season as a mentor to Khan.
